[NORTH YORK] Cherry Blossoms fun hike @ Edward's Gardens to Serena Gundy (12 KM)

Details

If you're like me, you've been waiting all year for this! Who doesn't love a good refreshing walk through the most beautiful gardens in Toronto? Plus, during this time of year we will see the cherry blossoms!

This is an evening night hike at Edward's Gardens to Serena Gundy and Sunnybrook park, plus a visit to Pablo's Coffee House at the end of the hike. Here's a fun event and the perfect way to end the work week!

Distance is approximately 12km, and suitable for beginners since it's a mostly flat and paved trail.

Why walk alone when you can join a friendly group and meet other like-minded people. It's much safer and more enjoyable to hike with a like-minded group than walking alone!

Benefits of walking/ hiking are numerous: improve sleep quality, boost metabolism, enhance mental health, aid digestion. Walking helps relax the mind, burn calories, reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, and alleviate indigestion. You'll be getting over 15,000 steps! You'll burn lots of calories and can splurge on some baked goods at the Shops at Donmills!

The route:
We will meet in front of the Metro at 1050 Donmills Rd (FREE parking) and from there, walk through Shops and Donmills to get to the trail which will lead us to Edward's Gardens. We will continue on the Wilket Creek trail to Sunnybrook Park, hike through Serena Gundy forest, then up 114 stairs to the field, down a forested trail, and return. We will stop for a washroom break before returning.

What to bring in your backpack:
- water bottle or hot beverage (2 litres)
- wear hiking boots and dress appropriately for the weather

MEETING TIME:
We start at 5:30pm. I will guide everyone through a warmup and then we will start the hike. Please aim to arrive by 5:20pm.

Carpool requests:
You may post in the event for a ride. It is the responsibility of each hiker to find their own transportation. If you live in Toronto, this location is very easy to get to via public transit.
