Long Weekend Kayak trip to Georgian Bay
Details
Kayak trip to Franklin Island + Camping (3 nights) Friday-Monday Long Weekend.
Difficulty: Intermediate to Advanced.
DESCRIPTION
Franklin Island is on Georgian Bay, one of the most scenic areas in Ontario .
This is a 3 day kayak trip. We will leave Friday night coming back on Monday night. We will be camping on Franklin Island.
There are no portages but full days of paddling so attendees should be fit. Camp sites are available on the island. Prior kayak experience is requested. Should be willing to do a "wet exit" from the kayak (that is rolling the kayak and swimming up from under). Sunday will be an open day where, depending on the weather, advanced paddlers can go to the Mink and McCoy Islands. Others can relax or paddle in the bays of Franklin Island or circle the island.
Food will be pooled and carpooling arranged. Please indicate if you can drive, how many you can take and have a tent and for how many.
I will be asking for a $50 deposit via paypal or bank email transfer to keep your spot since I will have to reserve the kayaks ahead of time.
Make sure your settings allow you to see organizer messages or you will miss my messages and will end up missing the trip.
