What we’re about
We started this group to share our love of speaking German with people in the Greater Toronto Area of all levels of skill in pleasant and relaxed settings. Although this group was started on Meetup in November 2012, the Stammtisch and Brunch events have been taking place monthly for many years.
We have six regular, monthly events:
• the Mississauga Pub Night on the second Monday of the month, which began in April 2013;
• the German Parents and Children Group - Deutsche Eltern- und Kindergruppe on the second Friday of the month, which began in September 2014;
• the Deutscher Stammtisch on the third Wednesday of the month, which began in October 2005;
• the Saturday Brunch the third Saturday of the month, which began in 2007;
• the Oakville Pub Night event on the fourth Monday of the month, which began in March 2014;
• the German Conversations event for people learning German on the fourth Wednesday of the month, which began in November 2012;
• We schedule other cultural and culinary events from time to time.
Two of us, Robert and Stephan W, have been organizers of social events for German speakers, and for other interests, with other groups on Meetup for many years. We have since welcomed Anne, Ethan, Martin, and Mustafa to the team.

German Pub Night in Oakville

We're delighted to offer all German speakers a pub night on the fourth Monday of each month in Oakville on the west side of the Greater Toronto Area.
Wir freuen uns allen deutsch-sprechenden ein Pubtreffen am 4. Montag des Monats in Oakville im Westen des GTAs anbieten zu dürfen.
Our meeting place is The King's Arms Pub, on Church Street in the downtown Oakville area. The pub offers a traditional atmosphere, a variety of beers on tap, and a tasty menu of typical pub fare as well as other favourites.
Unser Treffpunkt ist das King's Arms Pub in der Church Street im Zentrum der Stadt. Es bietet eine traditionsreiche Atmosphäre , mehere Biere vom Fass, und eine umfangreiche Speisekarte mit Pub- und anderen leckeren Gerichten an.

Please ask the staff if you cannot find us, however until further notice a table in the room upstairs will be reserved for us. If the weather is nice, you may find us on the patio.
Bitte fragt Ihr das Personal wenn Ihr uns nicht findet, aber bis auf weiteres wird ein Tisch im Obergeschoss für uns reserviert. Bei schönem Wetter kann es auch sein, dass wir im Biergarten sitzen.

How to get there – Anfahrt
Take public transit — Subway Line 1 (Yonge-University-Spadina) to TMU (Dundas) Station, and walk (100 m) on the the east side of Yonge St south to the restaurant.
There is limited parking in the area: Green P Dundas Square garage 034 ($12.00 after 6 PM).
ÖPNV — U-Bahnlinie 1 (Yonge-University-Spadina) bis TMU (Dundas) Station, dann 100 m südlich zu Fuß.
Es gibt wenige Parkmöglichkeiten in der Nähe: die Green P Parkgarage 034 ($12 ab 18 Uhr).

Mississauga Pub Night

As per popular demand, we offer a pub night for our members on the second Monday of each month on the west side of the Greater Toronto Area.
Nach Eurem Wunsch, bieten wir ein Pubtreffen am 2. Montag des Monats in Mississauga im Westen des GTAs an.
Our meeting place is the REDS Restaurant, which is part of Square One mall in the centre of Mississauga, close to City Hall. The restaurant has an entrance directly from the outdoors as well as from the mall, and an outdoor patio.
Unser Treffpunkt ist das REDS Restaurant, ein Teil des Square One Einkaufzentrums im Zentrum Mississaugas, in der Nähe des Rathauses. Das Restaurant hat direkte Eingänge von drinnen und draußen und eine Terrasse.
