• Picking the Right GTD Tool (7-9pm & New Year Kickoff Gathering (9-10p-ish)

Join us for this month's GTDNYC Meetup, where we'll be discussing how to pick the right GTD tool(s) for your GTD practice! Following the normal Meetup, we’re going to make our way to a local venue (see below) for a New Year Kickoff Gathering! Invite your friends, colleagues or significant other to join us in ringing in the new year, and new decade. This month, we're hosted by WeWork, thanks to John Chidiac, Tenlegs. Thanks John when you see him! (If you have any difficulties finding the place or getting in, call John at[masked].) I. Agenda, Introductions & Challenges Forum (7:00 PM) A. Mix & Mingle - Time to get coffee or a snack (to support our host venue), settle in and complete the Challenges Forum signup form before the GTDNYC Meetup begins. Please arrive in enough time so we can secure the appropriate seating! B. Introductions - (7:15 PM) Each member will introduce yourself briefly, tell us what you do professionally, your GTD experience, and a recent success with your productivity implementation and/or life. C. Challenges Forum - (7:30 PM) We'll give a few minutes to have the group help each member with solutions to challenges we may be facing currently with life or work circumstances with our productivity system. These are specific productivity challenges and only one challenge per member for time's sake. RSVP with your challenge and arrive early as we only have slots for the first-come-first-served 15 participants in the Challenges Forum! II. Topic: Picking the Right GTD Tool (~8:15 - 8:30 PM) So often the topic of “What GTD tool do you use?” comes up in conversation with new and long-time GTD practitioners. But, we don’t really address how we survey and ultimately select the right GTD tool(s) for our GTD-inspired productivity systems. So, that’s what we’ll be doing at this Meetup. How do/did you pick the right GTD tool for you? Bring paper and pen, or another writing implement, because you’ll want to do a lot of Capturing at this month’s Meetup! Please feel free to bring your copy of Getting Things Done (http://x.co/getgtd) for reference, your questions and thoughts! III. GTD Resource Sharing (8:35 PM) This is where everyone can offer a book title, recent blog or magazine article, tip/trick/hack, tool, smartphone app, service or item that has helped them in their life productively either with GTD or otherwise. The above category is a recommended focus for sharing, but you may share any productivity resource that has helped you on your GTD journey. (We compile resources discussed and post them to our Resources Page in the GTDNYC Google Group. Join us there ( http://groups.google.com/group/gtdnyc )!) I encourage everyone to bring some kind of GTD or personal productivity resource they know about or use to offer to the group! IV. Announcements / Closing Remarks (8:50 PM) Upcoming Meetup events, and additional programs, announcements will be given. If you are not receiving the Meetup notifications about Meetups and our other productivity activities (e.g., Productivity Book Group ( http://productivitybookgroup.org/ ), #ProdChat, the weekly Twitter chat ( http://rsidneysmith.com/prodchat )), and sign up directly here for email notifications ( https://app.mailerlite.com/webforms/landing/e3q4p6 ).
