...On this one day of the year, 14 sake breweries in Fushimi simultaneously open their breweries and offer tastings of their new sake. There are so many events, it's fun even if you don't drink!

The groundwater that flows through this area has made Fushimi one of Japan's three major sake-producing regions, and of course, it's perfect for Kyoto cuisine. (The other two are Nada in Hyogo Prefecture and Saijo in Hiroshima Prefecture.)

Uji River Branch

Fushimi boasts a beautiful waterway, developed as a port in the 16th century. This will also be an event venue. The view of the sake breweries across the waterway is also beautiful.

Gokonomiya Shrine

...The shrine here is called Gokounomiya because of the miraculous, fragrant water that springs forth from it. The name Fushimi literally derives from the abundant spring water. The buildings, including the gate of the now-defunct Fushimi Castle ruins, are also magnificent.

Yodo Cherry Blossom Festival

Enjoy an early cherry blossom viewing experience by strolling along the approximately 1.3 km canal lined with approximately 300 Kawazu cherry trees.

この地を流れる地下水は、伏見を日本の三大酒どころにしており、もちろん京料理にもぴったりです。（他の二つは兵庫県の灘、広島県の西条です。）

伏見には16世紀に港として整備された美しい水路が流れています。この日はここもイベント会場となります。水路越しの酒蔵の景観も美しいです。

御香宮神社

…この地の神社が御香宮と呼ばれるのは、霊験あらたかな香り高い水が湧き出したから。そして伏見の地名も文字通り、豊かな湧き水に由来します。今はなき伏見城遺構の門を始め、建物も素晴らしいです。
