Hiking - skiing Event Shared Transport leaving Guildford car share - share cost of petrol , ferry . hiking in the area is vast and varied , from the apartment we can hike visit highest revolving mountain Restaurant in Europe , and take cable cars across the mountains The apartment is ideally located for Hiking , as we can Hike right from Door , the Lauterbrunnen Valley offer wide rang of hiking opportunities, and is well signed Posted. Skiing is varied , ideal for intermediate , and beginners . Wengen is a mountain village in the Bernese Oberland of central Switzerland. Located in the canton of Bern at an elevation of 1,274 m above sea level, it is part of the Jungfrau region and has approximately 1,300 year-round residents, which swells to 5,000 during summer and to 10,000 in the winter. Wengen hosts the classic Lauberhorn ski races of the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup in January. Longest run on world cup circuit. The resort lies on a wind-protected sun terrace at the foot of the Jungfrau, 400 metres above the Lauterbrunnen valley at an altitude of 1274 m. The tradition-imbued, car-free holiday resort with magnificent views of the Jungfrau. In the whole Alpine region, no ridge of mountains can boast such romance as that combining the awe-inspiring peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, all around 4,000 metres. On the verdant slopes nestle idyllic, quintessential Alpine villages such as Wengen and Mürren where James Bond (George Lazenby) continues his mission to track down Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Telly Savalas), head of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. When Blofeld develops a lethal virus and threatens to unleash it upon the world . Also the option to visit highest mountain railway in Europe , as we Journey up To the Junhfrau Above the mighty Eiger. This is real mountain experience something for every one . This resort has something for every one learning to ski to Expert, or Hiking . The week Long Holiday offers skiing , mountain hiking , snow shoeing , Tobogganing , and magnificent mountain vistas . Our Accommodation will be Wengen , car free resort , or surrounding areas , options of own room , or share . The Area pass covers all the cable cars of this region and trains , costs in region £320 which will also enable us to visit Lakes in valley also. But Local pass can also be bought . Those who wish to ski cost of equipment for the week will cost £200.00, unless you bring own, room in car . Accommodation is self contained apartment, own rooms on a self catering option. Those who are not coming by car , can fly to Geneva Airport . where we will take the train outside , with straight connection to Interlaken . where we will change for a train to Lauterbrunnen . cost of Train is about £80 return , earlier this is booked the cheaper the price . These can be booked through train Line . There is also be transport from Guildford if you wish join . car share . As such can bring own equipment, we will be leaving on Saturday 7th , with - share petrol and ferry . Evening meals can be cooked in our accommodation , as there is self catering facilities , or we can eat local in the evening ,or in the various restaurants during the day , cater for about £20 per day on food This is depending on participants Budgets . Flights at time of writing this were £150 return . cost of week is £670 For the week. with full balance due Jan 2026 . Deposit to join £50 at time of joining . If participant is unable to attend once full payment made , refunds can be given up time accommodation needs to be paid in full . if after this only if place sold to another. Deposit to join event £50 . this is fully refundable. Included in Price . Accommodation. Guide for mountain Hikes to be confirmed. Not included Flights. Tranfer costs for Airport to resort. Lift pass . £360 approx .area pass covers all lifts and trains needed to get to all areas of mountain range . ski Hirer. £250 for weeks approx for people skiing evening meals. Train cost of Junhfrau. £85.00 . This a must if not done , especially on clear day this is optional snow shoeing . sledging. Ski school around £250 for week Each participant will responsible for their own insurance to cover mountain winter sports- strongly suggest appropriate insurance is taken to cover cancellation of Holiday due to illness .
