What we're about

Guitar lovers and guitarists - welcome to the NYC Guitar Group!

The NYC Guitar Group is for everyone and everything guitar- to bring us all together as a guitar community: guitarists, guitar students, guitar teachers, guitar makers, guitar sellers, guitar technicians, songwriters, composers, guitar managers, and everyone who loves the sound of the guitar. This group is for you.

Even if you've never held a guitar before, come join us and discover a beautiful instrument!

Our mission is to bring the whole guitar community together- to make each member stronger by providing opportunites to play, learn, and listen to great music. We are more than individual guitarists playing alone- we are the NYC Guitar Group- a network of talented, encouraging, and supportive people, all united by music.

We are here to play out loud- together. We hope that you'll enjoy the NYC Guitar Group!

Guitar Jam Session

60 Wall St

We’re doing it again! About 10 of us met for a jam session at 60 Wall St last Saturday and had a great time. There were several guitarists, a mandolin player, and some fine singers (kind of like the week before, but with some new faces and guitars!) We decided we'd like to meet again, same time, same place: The Atrium at 60 Wall St in Manhattan (the Atrium is just to the left of the main entrance, next to the Starbucks) at 12:00 this Saturday, March 2. Again, if you can post song suggestions before Saturday, that would be great. If you can bring printouts of lyrics/chords/lead sheets with you, that would also be very helpful (if you don’t have the capacity to print out, let me know and I will try to make some copies before Saturday). The awesome Jess was kind enough to set up a Spotify playlist for us last week (maybe she’ll do it again!!??) You don’t have to play guitar…we encourage singers and players of other instruments to come and play and sing with us. Thanks to everyone who showed up and contributed today! I hope to see lots of folks there! Michael B
