10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Join Ranger Brown for hands-on fisheries fun at North Point State Park!
Get your feet wet and discover the amazing creatures that call the shallow waters of the Chesapeake Bay home. Using a seine net—a long net with weights at the bottom and floats at the top—we’ll explore the tidal shoreline and see what we can catch: maybe a shimmering silverside, a darting killifish, a grass shrimp, or even a curious blue crab!
This program is perfect for families, budding scientists, and anyone curious about the Chesapeake Bay. Along the way, you’ll learn about fish anatomy and how to use a dichotomous key to identify fish species.
A park entry fee will be taken at the yellow honor box at our gatehouse (first facility as you enter the park). Please bring cash, put it into a green envelope from the honor box, and insert the cash envelope into the honor box upon entering the park
$3.00 for cars with Maryland tags
$5.00 for cars with out-of-state tags
Park in Lot B and meet by the flag post at the Visitor Center at 10 a.m.
