About us

UPDATE APRIL 2026. PLEASE READ BELOW:
Events have been unlisted and will no longer show on this page for the days when there is soccer pickup. Enough people show up almost every day of the week for games and most people do not even use the app so those are the reasons for this change. This group will still be free to join and I will update below periodically with information about the times and days of the week pickup soccer occurs. You can still message me or post a discussion on this page if you have any specific questions. Please read below about information on rules and schedules.

--------------------------------------------------------
ATTENTION NEWCOMERS:
There is usually anywhere between one to three games on a given day. All games are self organized and there is not one specific person who sets up the games. There are usually one to three people everyday who will bring pop-up goals and pinnies/bibs. Games are usually capped at 10 vs 10 people.

The first game is usually very competitive and the players are usually picked by two captains. THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF PLAYTIME, EVEN IF YOU SHOW UP EARLY. For this reason, it is suggested to arrive a little early on the busier days when there are multiple games and therefore a higher chance of joining the second or third game. These days are typically Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. See below for more info.

--------------------------------------------------------
SCHEDULE (LAST UPDATED APRIL 2026):
Times below subject to change depending on season and field availability. These are not exact times. Games start when there is enough people, so times may differ by as much as 30 minutes.

If you are new, it is suggested to come on the weekends since there is a low chance of getting in a game on the weekdays. No guarantee of playtime for anyone no matter what day:

Sunday: 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM / 2 to 3 games
Monday: 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM / 1 game
Tuesday: 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM / 1 game
Wednesday: 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM / 1 to 2 games
Thursday: 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM / 1 game
Friday: 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM / 2 to 3 games
Saturday: 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM / 2 to 3 games

If you come late, then you may have to wait for a new game to start up once there is enough people. Or wait for someone to leave a game (typically one hour after a game starts). We do not do substitutions. On the Weekends each game typically end after 1.5 hours and restart. So there is a good chance of getting playtime if you arrive later, but there will be a wait.

--------------------------------------------------------
LOCATION: CAULEY CREEK PARK, JOHNS CREEK, GA
Games are played on the turf fields. We typically play on a quarter size of the field. There are usually several groups all trying to use the fields at the same time since they are public. Sometimes one of the fields are rented by another group so space and availability will be limited.

--------------------------------------------------------
SKILL LEVEL:
Skill level varies and the ages typically range from 16 to 50+. Most people here have some experience playing soccer and play regularly. Some people have experience from school or club soccer but I would say most do not. Some people can be pretty competitive but not everyone is. For the Atlanta Metro area it is probably on the lower end of competitiveness for pickup groups. For beginners it is recommended to only come on the busier days in one of the less competitive games.

--------------------------------------------------------
Rules
1. NO SLIDE TACKLING! Even if they are clean it will be called a foul.
2. CALL YOUR OWN FOULS. If you believed you were fouled, then call it. Most of the time we will honor it, even if we disagree. No one else will call your fouls for you.
3. No shirt pulling.
4. No overly aggressive tackling.
5. Offsides are allowed.
6. "Goal Keepers" can not use their hands.
7. No throw ins. We just kick the ball in.
8. We typically do corners for larger games. Smaller games might not have corners.

Equipment
Colored pinnies/bibs will be made available for most games so no need to bring certain colored shirts.
It would be appreciated if people bring a soccer ball just in case and having more than one helps with the flow of the game.

Donations:
This group is free to join so it does not cost you to join at all. However, any donations are appreciated. Meetup charges a monthly fee to host this group, and several people spend money out of their own pockets for goals, pinnies, soccer balls, and cones for everyone to use and enjoy.
