February is a short month, so we are having another HDDG only a few weeks after the last! But that means more technical talks in a shorter time period, so who can argue with that?

This month we are pleased to welcome Natasha Baker, founder of SnapEDA (http://snapeda.com). Natasha started SnapEDA to reduce the overhead time of creating components for your PCB designs. Snap offers a library of generic component information that can be translated into a wide variety of individual EDA formats ( OrCAD, Altium, Eagle, KiCAD, Pulsonix and more coming). Natasha will discuss some of the issues with footprints and how to reduce the headaches they cause in your designs.

We are also pleased to welcome James Lewis, creator of the AddOhms tutorials (https://www.tindie.com/products/baldengineer/addohms-dvd-vol1/) and capacitor expert at Kemet (http://Kemet.com). James will talk about the finer points of capacitors and how they can trip you up in your design. Temperature ratings, DC bias, microphonics, dielectric absorption (and more!)...it's the specs you don't think about will be the ones that will get you. Come learn more about how to intelligently choose capacitors for your next design.

As always, we welcome attendees to give 2 minute talks about their projects and companies (please see the organizers to get set up when you arrive).

Food and beer will be provided, you bring the nerdy conversation about hardware.

Look forward to seeing you all there!
