The harvest is upon us and we're going to be talking data and farming at our September meetup!
This month we're pleased to welcome Eric Maundu, founder of Kijani Grows, an Oakland based aquaponics company. These fish + plant systems allow for healthy and readily available food in urban environments. Eric will be talking about the intersection of hardware and software and how to visualize the data that is produced by these internet connected systems.
We're also pleased to welcome Anthony May, engineer at Mavrx. His work at the company has been on multi-spectral cameras (attached to planes) that are used to monitor crops. The talk will include basics on how agricultural imaging works, including analysis of narrow wavelength slices of the visual spectrum, through near-IR and across the visible spectrum.
As always, we welcome attendees to give 2 minute talks about their projects and companies (please see the organizers to get set up when you arrive).
We will have a bountiful food and beverage harvest at this event, like usual. You should plan to bring the discussion about hardware (or whatever else you're passionate about).
Look forward to seeing you all there!
