FUN HACKATHON WEEKEND: Make the world a better place

Summary:
Each team builds a project over the course of one weekend and creates a demo video for their project. The project can be anything that fits the theme of making the world a better place. The event takes place at the Hacker Dojo in Mountain View. You can attend remotely however you will be ineligible to win a prize. Hackathons are a great way to learn more about coding and project building.
Dates: August 25 - 27th 2023
Schedule:
Friday: 6pm - 10pm. Form teams and work on your projects.
Saturday: 8am - 10pm. Work on your projects.
Sunday: 8am - 4pm. Work until 2pm, Demos from 2pm to 4pm.

Hackathons are a great way to improve your skills. You can practice using a new language, framework, or tool to improve as a software engineer. You can practice planning a project and working as a team. You can even put your project on your resume if you want. :)

We can try to help you if you need help figuring out how to do something for your project
Rules:
1. Theme for the projects: "Make the world a better place". Your project can be whatever you want. Just make sure your project idea is respectful and honorable.
2. Divide yourselves into teams based on what project you want to work on.
3. Maximum team size: Any team size.
4. You must make and submit a short video that demos your project. Each video must be under eight minutes long.
5. Your project's video demo will be shown during the scheduled demo time. The order of the videos will be random.
6. The demo videos will be live-streamed to the Hacker Dojo YouTube channel.
7. Your project's video demo must be submitted by 2pm on Sunday to qualify.
8. The team with the best project, best demo, and most positive impact on the world will be declared the winner.
9. Please help us keep the space, including the bathrooms, clean and well taken care of throughout the event.
10. Please stick around after the event for a bit to help us clean the space.
11. No sleeping overnight at the Dojo. ("You don't have to go home but you can't stay here")
12. Be excellent to each other. Be extremely respectful and kind to each other.
13. Event is free to attend and participate. But please consider donating something like $20 to help cover the cost of food.
14. You are encouraged to bring your own guests and spread the word about this event. Thank you for helping to make it an awesome event!
15. Let us know if you want to volunteer to help out at this event or be a co-host at this event.
16. If you want to attend remotely, you can. However, you will be ineligible to win a prize. We will set up a discord channel for the event so that attendees can communicate with each other.
