Defcon 650 Meetup
Details
Come hang out with hackers, builders, breakers, and the merely curious at Hacker Dojo in Mountain View.
The format is simple: lightning talks, ~5 minutes each, given by the attendees. No PhD required, no "expert" required. The one ask: talks should center on a project where you're applying your skills, not a pure "how-to" walkthrough. Show us the thing you built, broke, or figured out: a CTF writeup, a weird bug you chased down, a hardware hack, a tool you wrote, or a rabbit hole you fell down at 2am. Five minutes is just enough to spark a conversation, and the conversations afterward are usually the best part.
Why come?
- Meet people in the field. Security folks, developers, hobbyists, students, and pros all in one room.
- Learn things you'd never have gone looking for. The beauty of lightning talks is the range. You'll walk away knowing about tech, attacks, and ideas that were nowhere on your radar.
- Heading to DEF CON? This is one of the best ways to roll into Vegas already knowing a crowd. Show up to the big con with friends instead of strangers.
Whether you want to give a talk or just listen, you're welcome. Bring your curiosity (and your questions).
Want to present? Bring your slides and sign up at the door or drop a note in the comments. First-timers strongly encouraged.
New faces are always welcome. See you at the Dojo.
