Shakespeare Night Presents: (via ZOOM) Tale of Genji, Section 3 (cont'd)
Details
Apologies... when I posted this the first time, I gave the wrong date.
If we don't know each other, please join 15 minutes early for mutual introductions. We have had enough experience with zoom bombers to make this annoying step necessary ...
THIS READING
• We are reading from Section 3 of Helen Craig McCullough's selections from "Tale of Genji". We backtracked last time and started at the beginning of that section and stopped at the middle of page 71 in the printed text. We will start from the line that begins "Fruit and other dainties", though we may backtrack just a bit for the sake of continuity.
WHAT WE DO:
We go around, round-robin style, and read aloud from the current selection.
CURRENT SHAKESPEARE-NIGHT SCHEDULE
On the first and third Monday of each month, Tom Frenkel has been hosting a reading. We had been reading from the Arabian Nights, but he will post the next selection.
On the second and fourth Mondays of each month, Peter Shenkin is the host. We will continue with the Tale of Genji.
On the fifth Mondays of the month (if any), we hold an "open mic", where participants are encouraged to sing a song, tell a joke, read poetry/prose, or whatever.
GENERAL INFORMATION
If you RSVP "Yes" to a Meetup, the Zoom link will be visible on the meetup.com event page.
We often have an informal discussion following the reading.
