Introduction to MCP Server & Security

Details

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) server is a standardized system that enables secure, structured communication between AI models and external resources, tools, or data sources. MCP servers expose capabilities like functions, data, and prompts to AI-powered applications, allowing large language models to make consistent API calls using a defined JSON-RPC protocol.

This client-server architecture means AI apps no longer need custom code for each integration—instead, they connect to MCP servers through a single, universal interface. Security is enforced via authentication and strict permissions to prevent unauthorized access and misuse. MCP helps unify fragmented integrations, making it easier for developers to scale AI functionality across multiple platforms while protecting sensitive information and controlling access.

In this presentation we will have hands on exercises with OS tools that help address LLM and MCP Servers as well. Check some of them at this repo github.comn/rsfl
