Hello H/H,

We’re offering something a little different this coming week: a lunch session on solutions journalism.

Catherine Cheney, West Coast correspondent for Devex, will lead it. The Solutions Journalism Network is an independent, non-profit organization working to spread the practice of solutions journalism: rigorous and compelling reporting on responses to social problems. See details below. (https://www.linkedin.com/lite/external-redirect?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Esolutionsjournalism%2Eorg&urlHash=QAx3)

We have 20 spots open on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 12 pm to 2 pm at KQED. Sign up here. Space is limited, so please make sure you’re able to attend if you take one. We’ll have a few snacks but plan to bring your own lunch.

Solutions Journalism Network workshop for Bay Area journalists

Date: Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 12 pm to 2 pm

Location: KQED in San Francisco at 2601 Mariposa Street

The Solutions Journalism Network (http://solutionsjournalism.org/) invites Bay Area journalists to join us for our official workshop in San Francisco.

We will explore the ins and outs of solutions journalism, talk about why it’s important, explain key steps in reporting a solutions story, and give loads of tips and resources for journalists interested in investigating what’s working. We will also explore the recently revamped Solutions Story Tracker, a database of almost 1,500 stories tagged by beat, publication, author, location, and more.

Join fellow journalists interested in telling the whole story, and begin a journey that will end with the publication of a solutions journalism piece!

The workshop will be led by Catherine Cheney, Bay Area coordinator at the Solutions Journalism Network. Questions? Email catherine@solutionsjournalism.org (https://mail.google.com/mail/?view=cm&fs=1&tf=1&to=catherine@solutionsjournalism.org).

Space is limited.
