They say the best way to learn is to teach it to someone, and imagine if that someone is AI. Yes, GPT models know a lot, yet they aren't smarter than Generation Alpha kids in our homes ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. Poor GPT also finds PSLE so hard sometimes (https://bit.ly/gpt-fails-sg-psle). AI could use some help from you. We thought, why not get together, play with AI tools, learn about open-source models, and see what we can contribute as a community?

This special edition of ForwardLeague Meetup is for kids and parents to come together and meet like-minded AI users. We will learn about what AI tools (open source) are safe for our kids to use in a private, self-hosted environment and how we can collectively train it as a community.

Agenda (Tentative):

  1. State of AI in our Homes. A story of Father and Son on becoming Singapore's first AI Apprentice.
  2. Importance of Open Source in tinkering, learning and fuelling the creativity.
  3. Community-Based Approach to Training our AI (InstructLab Project).
  4. AI Art inspiring creativity in young (a demonstration and short try-along activity).
  5. QnA & Networking
