The Hagerstown Vegan Meetup Group provides a great forum to meet fellow vegans, health-seekers, activists, environmentalists, raw food enthusiasts, backyard organic gardeners, etc. and to learn more about alternative health lifestyles and the impact of our food choices on our health, communities and environment!
We currently have regular potlucks and occasional topic-based meetings. So, come join us as we build a healthy-living, eco-conscious, compassionate and fun-loving community in the Hagerstown area!
Note: All our food events are vegan, though we welcome curious omnivores and long-term vegans alike! Everyone needs their fruits and veggies! However, with such a diversity of dietary concerns these days, please make sure to carefully label all potluck dishes. For a list of animal-derived ingredients, check out . http://www.happycow.net/health-animal-ingredients.html
Join us for a May Vegan Potluck! Please bring a vegan (no animal products whatsoever) dish to share, and consider bringing a place setting, so that we need not use disposables if we have more guests than our dishes and flatware can accommodate. See you there!
Judith & Joe would like to invite you to Smithsburg for their annual vegan "garden potluck" to kick-off the Summer season! Come help us continue to build our veg-friendly community and enjoy some tasty vegan food on the backdrop of their beautiful garden. Whether you're just curious about vegetarianism or you're a veg veteran and wish you knew more veg*ns in the area, come share a great meal and expand your veg social circle!
For the potluck, please bring along a vegan dish containing no animal products (no meat, fish, egg, dairy or honey) to serve at least eight to ten people. If possible, bring a list of ingredients and/or recipe to help those with allergies or food sensitivities.
We are a supportive group where we can openly discuss dietary issues, environmental and health concerns, and social challenges. We welcome your input and ideas for discussion topics, themes, demonstrations, and any challenges and/or successes related to a veg*n lifestyle.
Note: If possible, bring along your own place setting (plate, bowl, cup & silverware), to ensure we have enough to go around without using disposable stuff. Thanks!
We're looking forward to seeing you!
Lisa and Phil have a small cow sanctuary in Hagerstown. They invite us to a vegan meetup at their place. They will be feeding the cows at about 3:30 and we are invited to watch or help. They have plenty of dishes and utensils so no need to bring your own to this one. Check out the farm Facebook page @hanbyfarm jo
Joanne inspired this idea when she brought her box of magazines to the picnic. I'd like to set a meet-up at the Williamsport, MD Library for members to bring magazines or books related to the Veg life, health, gardening, etc. to exchange or give away. Leftovers can be donated to the library.
