Halifax Social Board Games

Halifax Social Board Games is a friendly, casual group for people who want to play some games, meet new people, and have a fun night!

You don't need to be a board game expert or bring anyone with you. Whether you've been playing for years, are completely new to the hobby, or just want to meet some new people, you're welcome at the table.

We play a mix of social, party, strategy, and deduction games, with an emphasis on games that are easy to learn and fun with a group.

Come by yourself or bring a friend. I'll bring the games, teach the rules, and get everyone playing!

Do I need to know how to play?
Not at all! I'll explain the rules before we start each game. Beginners are always welcome.

Can I come by myself?
Absolutely. A big part of the group is meeting new people, so don't worry if you don't know anyone yet. Come out, grab a seat, and we'll get you into a game.

How much does it cost?
The Board Room Game Café charges a $10 admission fee. You'll also be responsible for any food or drinks you order while you're there.
There are no additional fees to join Halifax Social Board Games or attend our events.

What kinds of games do you play?
We play a little bit of everything, including party games, social deduction games, and lighter strategy games. I generally choose games that work well with groups and can be learned without spending half the night reading a rulebook.

How do RSVPs work?
I want to make sure everyone gets a fair chance to join us. If you attended the previous Halifax Social Board Games event, please wait 48 hours after the next event is posted before RSVPing.
If you didn't attend the previous event, you can RSVP as soon as it's posted. Once the 48 hours are up, any remaining spots are open to everyone.

What if I need to cancel?
Plans change. If something comes up, please update your RSVP as soon as you can so someone else has a chance to take your spot.
Because space is limited, no-shows or cancellations within 24 hours of an event may be removed from the group. The goal is simply to make sure seats don't go to waste when someone else would have happily joined us.

Do I need to bring anything?
Nope! Just show up ready to play. I'll make sure we have games ready to go.
