Sunday, October 1st, 2023 is our Annual Ancestor's Trail Hike along the Culham trail starting at Erindale Park in Mississauga. Join us on an epic journey through deep time from the dawn of multicellular animal life 1 billion years ago to our humble human selves.
For those who have walked with us previously, there are a few important changes from past walks:
- This will be a 7.5 km walk, (half of prior events) on good trails and mostly-flat terrain with one major hill
- The walk will start and end at Erindale Park
- We will be serving snacks and light refreshments after the walk. Since the walk will end close to lunchtime, feel free to bring a personal picnic lunch to enjoy
Wear comfortable shoes for the hike and apply/bring sunscreen and/or bug repellent if you need it. Most of the hike is under tree cover and along a scenic trail. We will have rest stops along the way with refreshments and washroom breaks. After our walk we will have light snacks and refreshments at Erindale Park. Pets are welcome.
As in the past, we will be collecting any trash we find along the trail and depositing it in bins as we proceed.
