Enjoy a delicious footlong at famed Easterbrooks hot dog stand in Aldershot across from the Royal Botanical Gardens followed by a beautiful walk at nearby Hendrie Valley.
They have a wide selection of unique hot dog toppings, amazing poutine, and ice cream, in an old 50s diner atmosphere.
There are also picnic tables to eat outside.
Afterwards, we'll head down the street for a beautiful 2 km sunset walk in nearby Hendrie Valley, a breathtaking nature preserve and marshland just off Plains Road.
It's an accessible walking trail at a beginner level with no inclines, rocks or roots.
Wear bug spray after dinner for the walk portion as we all know mosquitoes get active at dusk.
The goal is to walk one km to the bridge and boardwalk starting around 8 pm, sightsee in nature (there are tons of songbirds, chipmunks, squirrels, geese, ducks, and some frogs and turtle spotting if we're lucky). We plan to get back to our cars just before dark.
Join us for yummy food and time in one of the area's most beautiful natural spaces!
Meet at Easterbrooks at 7 pm.
