Hampden Neighborhood Social Group

Join us for an evening of board game fun with faster setup, automatic scoring, and of course, copious trash talking! Favorites include Splendor, Pandemic, Settlers of Catan, Space Base, and Fluxx, but there are literally hundreds of games including dice games like Yahtzee and card games like Spades. There is something for everyone, and the online format makes many games much easier to play since the system prompts you for every move.

We'll be using Zoom AND BoardGameArena.com for Virtual Game Night. If it's your first time, you'll also need to create a FREE account in BoardGameArena.com.

You don't need to use your real name or profile photo.

Join us with the Zoom link posted on the event in the main room to decide on which games to play. Please post your BGA profile names in the chat so we can "friend" one another in there. Once we have a group ready for a particular game, the table captain will initiate a game and invite the profiles of the people who want to play. I'll create a breakout room for each game so each group can still have video and voice while we play. When you're done with your game, come back to the main room and find new players for something else. This is a casual drop-in kind of event, so please do check in with the main group between every game so we can all get to know each other.

We have the front of the bar reserved for games and there are great food and drinks specials including half price wings. The event is free but we hope you'll grab a bite or a beer while you are playing.

You're the DJ at this virtual event! Create a YouTube playlist in advance with 9 songs, then post the link to the playlist in the comments below. During the Zoom, each person will have ten minutes to discuss their inspiration (e.g. favorite songs, highlighting a genre, lyrics with a theme, etc.) and to play 30-60 second snippets of each song to give everyone a taste of your taste in music. Let's get to know each other in this incredibly expressive and personal way!
