Trying something different this time.
Heading to the VB oceanfront.
12 miles total from the Fort Story fence(89th St.) down to the Rudee Inlet(just south of 2nd St.) & back. This is 6 miles in the sand & 6 miles on cement. I’ve done the north beach & hotel sections separately, but this will be first time tackling all of it together.
Game plan is…
3 miles of sand hiking to boardwalk
3 miles of boardwalk to inlet
Snack break at inlet
3 miles back up to end of boardwalk
3 miles of sand hiking to Fort Story
Feel free to put your toes in the water. I’m sure I will at some point on the return.
Street parking should be available on/around 89th St. Looks like a decent section just left of Fort Story entrance. Otherwise, the north end of the beach has a few spots sporadically in front of the houses on these small streets. Bear with me as I’ve never parked this far up before. Atlantic Ave. breaks off where Shore Dr. begins at the curve. 6 blocks tucked away up there before Fort Story.
Meet up point will be at 89th street beach access point. Not sure if the black Cadillac will be parked right there, but I’m easily recognizable. Tall with a long orange beard.
Please arrive early. We leave on time. If late, head to the beach, turn right & head south to catch up.
As always…
