Lets REvisit The Buffington-Whitehurst House which has stood in Virginia Beach since 1793.

It was home to James Howard Whitehurst who despite being twice wounded and then captured as a member of the 16th Regiment of the Virginia Confederate Army lived out his final days and is buried here.

We will tour w a docent around the grounds and hear of the thriving farm that was here for hundreds of years. Then access the inside of the house Daniel Whitehurst built in 1793. The interior tour includes a few ghost tales.

A 5 dollar donation to the Buffington-Whitehurst Foundation is customary for those who take the tour and will help preserve one of Virginia Beach's oldest houses.

The tour is roughly 1 hour, then we hike the trails...

This was a favorite hiking spot before they put the official trail in.

There is a rightfully named "Muddy Trail" so waterproof shoes and bug spray are a good idea.

The post tour hike should be about 4 miles.
