Newport News Park hike. 5-8 miles

More about filling my 3hr time window before going to watch my Browns win the rare 2 in row. 🤞5-8 miles?

Been here multiple times. Zig zag through a small portion of trails. It’s a huge park. Surprised me my first visit. Plenty of miles to accumulate if you want to break off & explore further.

I’m hoping to park right at Dam Bridge #1 & that’s where we’ll meet up & set out crossing the water. You’ll see bridge on your left & it’s a row of spots on main road. If you see black Cadillac with trunk open, that’s me. If no prime spot available, there is a Discovery Center that is close by with additional parking. We’ll just meet at the damn bridge then.

Park headquarters are off to the left when you pull in, if you want your own map.

All easy trails with little to no elevation. Pets must be leashed if bringing along.

Weather cancellation wouldn’t be until that morning if need be. Some rain doesn’t bother me. I tend to be an adventurer & poor conditions don’t always mean a poor hiking experience.

Trying to be on trail on time, so please arrive a few minutes early.
