Back at it again & getting further in. Another sunrise on the beach.

Estimated 15 miles total, but that depends on what we decide to do at the turnaround point. Do we make it to the cemetery? This will be predominantly a beach hike, which is tough because the woods/wetlands here are extremely beautiful.

From Back Bay parking lot
Seaside Trail to beach for sunrise
Oceanfront hike to False Cape Landing Trail
Into the shade on the Sand Ridge Trail
At the Wash Woods area is decision making time. There’s a few options & points of interests. Depending on actual mileage accumulated, we’ll go from there.
Oceanfront hike all the way back up to the cars.

Everyone’s an adult & hikes at their own risk. If you want to tap out early, let someone know. If you want to go further than the group, let someone know. If you choose to take your shoes off & walk slower with your feet in the water on the return, let someone know. It’s a straight shot back to the cars.

5:44 sunrise(earliest of the year?)
Back Bay should open 30 min prior
to sunrise. Usually a line of folks waiting for gate to open.
5:30 start this hike leaves on time If running late, the .3 mile Seaside Trail is at the north end of the parking lot. Head through the dunes & take a right at the ocean. Follow our footsteps & catch up.

Park at Back Bay visitor center(restrooms available).
$5 to park. I recommend buying parking pass earlier here.

As always…
Hike at your own risk.
20 minute/mile is what we average.
Water, snack & proper attire required.

Be early & ready to hike on time. We will leave.
Usually parked to the left right before visitor center.
& everyone’s favorite line
Long orange beard & black Cadillac with trunk open is me.

Weather looks good as of now & the heat(high 80s) might be upon us during the oceanfront return. It should be another spectacular day in the great outdoors.
Contact me with any questions.
Cancellation would be night before if need be.
