We are a local democratic reform group advocating for the use of Ranked Choice Voting in Hampton Roads. We meet for social events half the time, and meet for strategy/action the other half. We're a consortium of members from several different organizations: Veterans for Political Innovation, UpVote Virginia, Rank the Vote, and multiple political parties. We're all focused on one thing.
Are you concerned about the hyper-polarized nature of our current political conversations or the future of our democratic norms? Why not be a part of a movement that actually has the proven non-partisan reform concept that re-incentivizes our elected officials to serve a wider span of the citizens they represent instead of just special interests/dark money. An election reform that rewards substantive campaigns and considerably reduces the typical fear mongering ads of today's political campaigns.
RCV is already working for 66 RED and BLUE jurisdictions across the United States, and it will be great for cities in Hampton Roads as well! Come join us to either just get clarifying information, or join the movement to make a desperately needed positive and substantive change to our crumbling political dialogue. This idea has traction, and the time is now.
