Profile of Jai Jamali:
Jai Jamali is a contemporary jazz dancer with a classical background. He studied with the NZ School of Dance and went on to perform with Sydney Dance Company in Studios across Australia and Asia. His credits include Grease the Musical, West Side Story, backup dancer for American singer Kristine W and lead dancer for the contemporary dance company, Brown Skins. He choreographed the Marching Boys for the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade several times and won “Best Choreography” winner award in 2010. In late 2012 he moved to Auckland New Zealand and since then has worked for Auckland Pride Festival's Closing Party for two consecutive years. In 2016 he was cast in a stage production called "Et Lux" which was part of Auckland Pride festival. His most recent performances were during Queenstown Gay Ski week festival. He was also a featured dancer for Splore Festival with head lining Chris Olwage Dance Company. His last performance was with Auckland Fringe Festival as ensemble in a production of “Coco for Rococo”. Currently working as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor, Choreographer and Freelance Dancer. He is also currently teaching Open Jazz Class and Adult Ballet.
