What we’re about
This fall marks 10 years of a creative friendship that has shaped both our work and our way of being. Our shared love of thoughtful design and handcrafted goods first inspired Millie | Lottie (millielottie.com)—and now, we’re returning to the table for a new chapter: The Handwork + Soup Salon.
Whether you’re new to handwork or a seasoned maker, all are welcome. Bring a beloved piece of clothing to mend, and join us to stitch, share and connect. This gathering is for anyone who wants to slow down, work with their hands, and share ideas over a warm bowl of soup.
Our First Series: Sashiko — The Art of Japanese Mending
We begin with Sashiko, a traditional Japanese stitching technique that turns mending into a mindful art form. Rooted in simplicity and sustainability, it reflects our shared values and design philosophy.
We’ll explore:
• The history and meaning of Sashiko
• Mastering the basic running stitches
• Applying Sashiko to repair and reinforce your own garments
*The attendee count shown may not reflect the actual number of participants, as the event is listed across multiple platforms.
