Speaker's Profile
Dr. Tan Yong Seng is a senior heart specialist at Gleneagles Medical Centre in Singapore.

He started his medical journey at the National University of Singapore in 1984, where he got his medical degree with flying colours in subjects like Biochemistry and Microbiology. Dr Tan then went on to receive various prestigious fellowships from institutions like the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and the American College of Cardiology. He also trained at renowned hospitals like the Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic in the USA.

Dr Tan specializes in fixing hearts and blood vessels in adults and has shared his knowledge by writing lots of articles for medical journals and speaking at conferences all over the world.

But Dr. Tan is not just about fixing hearts in the operating room. He's also big on something called 4P Medicine, which means focusing on predicting, preventing, personalizing, and involving patients in their own healthcare.

He's been on TV, educating people about their bodies and hearts, and he regularly gives talks to all kinds of groups in Singapore about keeping their hearts healthy.

Apart from his medical work, Dr. Tan is deeply involved in helping the community. He holds important roles in various organizations like the Active Ageing Council and the Singapore Heart Foundation, where he works to make sure people in Singapore stay healthy and cared for.
Dr. Tan Yong Seng is not just a heart surgeon; he's a heart hero, working hard to keep Singapore healthy and happy.
