🌄 Moderate++ Sunset Hike & Picnic 🥪🌿 Stough Canyon Adventure in Burbank 🌅

Join me on Saturday, December 13th for a scenic sunset hike and picnic at Stough Canyon in Burbank!

We’ll explore the ridgelines above the city with panoramic views of Burbank, downtown LA, and beyond. At the peak, we’ll take a 30-minute picnic break, so bring a light packed lunch/dinner + snacks!

This is a moderate-difficult hike (~3.5 hrs total): ~1.5 hours up, 30-minute picnic, 1.5 hours down. The uphill section is steep but wide—not ideal for knee issues or beginners; hiking sticks recommended. The downhill is easier and perfect for photos and fresh mountain air.

Trail Details:

• Distance: ~7 miles round-trip
• Elevation Gain: ~1,300 ft (up to the Wishing Tree)
• Pace: Steady & comfortable, with plenty of photo stops

What to Bring:

• Water (essential!) 💧
• Packed lunch/dinner + snacks 🥪
• Hiking shoes 🥾
• Hat / sun protection 🧢
• Flashlight or headlamp 🔦
• Layers for changing temperatures 🌤️
• Hiking sticks if needed
• Leashed dogs welcome 🐕

Free parking at the Nature Center; street parking also available

Restrooms available and open before/after the hike

Notes & Tips:

This will be my 4th time hiking this trail—not a professional guide, just a fun group adventure!
Respect other hikers and nature. 🌿

The descent will get dark, so bring a flashlight or headlamp.
