HDDG 42: The Answer To Life, The Universe, And Everything

Details
We're fresh back from our meetup at Area 51 and we saw them aliens. Now it's time to get back into the swing of things with actual hardware hacking that doesn't involve element 125.
For this month's meetup, we're going to be joined by John McMaster (@johndmcmaster). John is the Bay Area expert on decapsulating chips and disintegrating circuits. For this Meetup, he'll be speaking about The Secrets of the NSA Phone Revealed! Actually, it's more about reproducing a secure phone key with x-rays, micrometers, KiCad and a 3D printer.
Also on deck will be Charles Li. He'll be speaking about LIDAR, the one thing Elon Musk says won't work for self-driving cars. This will be a great discussion about the physics and electromechanical bits that go into designing a LIDAR system, and how you can make that work for your project.
After the talks, there will be demos, community announcements, and socializing. If you'd like to give a 2 minute demo/ community announcement, please see the organizers when you arrive to get set up.
A community announcement includes looking for a project partner, a job, offering a project/ job, the announcement of your startup launch, your Crowdfunding pitch, etc.
Refreshments and drinks will be served, and there will be an after-party of sorts at a bar down the street. Streaming Live at 7:00pm! Watch the Live Stream:
