108th SF Hardware Meetup @ Studio 45 | Hardware in Biotech

Welcome back from the summer with another SF Hardware meetup event! We'll be discussing lab automation, robotics in research, and more at this event.

Food and drinks will be provided. Bring live demos for the open mic portion.

Our host will be Studio 45, a clubhouse for the hardware community.

Studio 45 is a coworking and event space located in Bernal Heights that provides the workspace, tools, resources, and community to build a business making physical products. They are having a 30% end of summer sale for memberships you can learn more here.

We have a great group of guest speakers!

• Roya is co-founder and CEO of Trilo Bio, working on end to end automation for biology. She is currently a 776 fellow, previously at 1517 and the bio maker space at Harvey Mudd.
• Brandon is currently a Venture Partner at Climate Capital Bio. With his background in synthetic and chemical biology from Stanford, he is always hunting for new technologies that either make biology easier to engineer or allow humanity to exist more symbiotically with the planet.
• Sarah founded Root Applied Sciences after realizing that farmers struggled to get decision-critical information. Sarah earned her PhD in soil microbial ecology from UC Berkeley and then worked at startups in biotech and agtech before starting Root Applied Sciences.

• 6:30-7:00pm: Arrive, mingle, grab some food and a beverage
• 7:00-7:10pm: Opening remarks
• 7:10-8:10: Guest speakers with audience Q+A
• 8:10-8:30pm: Open Mic.
• Anyone in attendance can give a demo or short presentation on their hardware product, startup, or project.
• 8:30-9:30pm: Mix, mingle, and close out the night.
