What we’re about
We are a group of Microsoft SQL Server Professionals. Monthly meetings are generally virtually. We have a variety of topics (anything data)and are always looking for new members to help with the group. Also, if you are interested in presenting a topic related to SQL please let us know.
The Houston Area SQL Server User Group (HASSUG) supports the diversity of our community. We strive to welcome different perspectives in a community where everyone feels respected and valued and is committed to inclusion across race, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, ability, geography, religion, identity, and experience. Above all, we ask that all HASSUG members be kind to one another and conduct themselves respectfully, creating a positive experience for everyone involved.
• Conduct yourself with integrity, respect, honesty, and credibility.

Busy Is a Four Letter Word
•OnlineOnlineHappy Holidays folks.
We will be kicking of 2026 with a little break from technical topics. Jes Chapman will be virtually presenting about "Busy is a four letter word". I have attended this few years back and it surely shatters our myth, that we are too busy.
Description of the session:
If I ask you, "How are you?", is your default answer, "I'm so busy!"? Why do we measure our worth by how much we are doing, rather than by the value of what we do? Are we busy doing the truly important things that will bring lasting happiness? What does this have to do with a technical group? Join me as I share with you how I, too, was too busy for too long, but am learning how to do less yet be more productive, and have bigger impact at work, in my community, and at home.

- Description of the Session:
Power BI is moving beyond static dashboards into a more conversational and automated analytics experience. With Copilot, Data Agents, and Copilot Studio, users can explore data through natural language, automate responses to data changes, and connect insights directly to action.
In this session, we will walk through how these AI capabilities work together inside Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. You will see how Copilot supports chat-based analysis and faster report creation, how Data Agents monitor signals and trigger actions, and where Copilot Studio fits when customization or governance is required. Using practical examples, we will focus on where AI delivers real value and how organizations should adopt these capabilities responsibly.
