🎙️ TALKS

Title: Building a Unified GraphQL API with Hasura
Description: GraphQL is an open source query language for APIs. It allows clients to request a structure of data, and get an exact representation of that structure back without any extra data. This helps to prevent sending excessive payloads of data to the client. This feature of GraphQL makes it a lucrative option for implementing a unified API that integrates two or more downstream GraphQL or non-GraphQL APIs. In cases where a client may need to interface with an enterprise’s API, a unified GraphQL API can provide a single endpoint that abstracts away any unnecessary data yet curates results from multiple APIs, thereby making it easy to evolve multiple APIs over time.

In this talk, I will be talking about the motivation behind creating a unified GraphQL API and show an example of how to create a unified GraphQL API with Hasura.
Speaker: Shruti Kapoor is a software engineer at Slack

Title: Implementing complex permissions using Hasura
Description: Fieldguide’s product had deeply complex permission requirements which the team solved using Hasura. In this in-depth talk, John will cover the requirements they had and how they used Hasura permissions to implement them. He will also talk about the lessons the team learned. Finally, he will showcase tooling they’ve built around permissions.
Speaker: John Koehn, is a software engineer at Fieldguide

Title: The rise of distributed serverless databases and Postgres
Description: Data is the lifeblood of any modern application or business, which is why the capabilities of the underlying database or databases used are critical. Learn about 2 distributed databases that are growing in popularity and how their visions align with Hasura’s. Distributed databases are suited for applications that require reliable, available, and correct data, and millisecond response times, regardless of scale. Best of breed solutions are built to automatically replicate, rebalance, and recover with minimal configuration and operational overhead.
Speaker: David Meleny is a product leader at Hasura
