🌱 Roots & Healing: An Art Journey for Generational Trauma Healing

As part of the KOTE Art Festival, this workshop invites you to pick a card with mindful questions on generational healing and respond through drawing.
It is a drop-in style session, open from 3:00–5:00 PM on September 6–7 (Saturday & Sunday).

📍 Location: 1F, Joseon Salon Café in KOTE (subject to change depending on event circumstances)

🕊️ Inspired by Gabor Maté’s The Wisdom of Trauma and the film The Eternal Song, which reflects on the history of Indigenous peoples and migrants, this workshop opens a space to explore personal healing within the wider story of generational trauma.
While Western therapy often turns to childhood relationships with parents as the root of trauma, this session widens the frame to include the historical, national, and social events that have shaped each generation. Through this lens, participants can embrace their healing journey with deeper insight and self-compassion.

🫂 This exploration resonates with the festival’s theme of Provisional Government × Non-Summit Talks, emphasizing resilience, dignity, and the courage to create temporary yet honest spaces in times of uncertainty. Just as provisional governments reflect humanity’s ability to protect ideals amidst instability, this workshop invites you to discover your own path of healing through art and collective reflection.

✨ Led by Sanha from wellness collective HAY, the session weaves Korea’s history of independence movements with the timeless act of healing through creativity.

🌱 뿌리와 치유: 세대간 트라우마 치유 아트 워크숍

코트 아트페스티벌의 일환으로 진행되는 이 워크숍은 9월 6–7일 (토·일) 오후 3시–5시, 자유롭게 참여할 수 있는 상시 자유참여 형식으로 열립니다.

뿌리와 치유 워크숍에서는 세대 간 치유와 관련된 질문 카드를 뽑고, 그에 대한 응답을 그림으로 표현합니다.

🕊️ 본 워크숍은 가보 마테의 The Wisdom of Trauma와 영화 The Eternal Song에서 영감을 받아 기획되었습니다.
서구의 심리치료가 주로 유년기의 부모와의 관계를 트라우마의 뿌리로 바라본다면, 이번 워크숍은 그 관점을 넘어 역사적·사회적·국가적 사건이 세대마다 남긴 상흔을 함께 살펴봅니다. 이를 통해 참가자들은 더욱 깊은 통찰과 자기연민 속에서 치유의 여정을 시작할 수 있습니다.

🫂 이러한 시도는 이번 코트 아트페스티벌의 주제인 임시정부 × 비정상회담과 맞닿아 있습니다. 임시정부가 불안정한 시대 속에서도 존엄과 이상을 지켜낸 것처럼, 참가자들 역시 예술과 집단적 성찰을 통해 자신만의 치유의 길을 발견할 수 있습니다.
