A revolution is happening in the banking industry, that isn’t a surprise for experience designers. Banks, who have been constrained by legacy technology issues, are fighting to break away from these technology limitations that have hindered the design of their products. But as they are fighting these battles, challenger banks have been sprouting up around the world with a digital and customer first approach that supports the shifts in behaviours of the banking consumer.

This talk, will look at the approach taken by Katral-Nada Hassan, an experience design consultant who led the product and user experience design of a new startup – a digital only bank launching in Dubai. Katral-Nada will showcase the journey of designing a bank from scratch and how using human centred design principles at the center of it all, helped create a truly customer centric product.

ABOUT KATRAL-NADA

Katral-Nada is a seasoned UX strategist and CX consultant, who has dedicated the last 15 years to developing optimal user experiences for products across web and mobile. Nada thoroughly understands the end to end design process and the convergence of design, business, technology and the user in that process to create amazing products that simply work. She fundamentally believes that experience design can improve people’s lives, transform businesses and industries and impact culture positively.

Having worked as a consultant in an agency setting her client experience span across industry sectors, such as healthcare, education, hospitality, retail and financial services. More recently, Nada has been focused on FinTech projects and working on the product design and experience of a new digital bank in the MENA region.
