HCPG Is Going to the Birds!
Details
Come join HCPG on a wildlife adventure to Bombay Hook Wildlife Refuge, DE. March brings the opportunity to see Canada Geese, Ducks, Woodchucks, Turtles, Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, Osprey, and Woodcock courtship flights as well as capturing the Alders and Red Maples as they flower. It will be a driving adventure with stops along the way to take part in short hikes along the trails and stops along the road to capture wildlife opportunities. Bring your long lenses on this trip to capture the birds and be ready to snap at any opportunity.
Dress accordingly as this will be a rain or shine event. Adjustments will be made based on the weather conditions. No refunds after 19 March 2025.
Timeline:
- 8:00am: Group will meet at the parking lot of the Bombay Hook Visitor Center (2501-2599 Refuge Entrance Rd, Smyrna, DE 1997)
- 8:00am-1:00pm: Drive through park with stops at the following:
- Boardwalk Trail
- Shearness Tower Trail
- Raymond Observation Tower Trail
- Other spots along the loop as we spot wildlife
- 1:00pm: Group meets at the Visitor Center Parking lot and heads to lunch at local restaurant.
