Let's go capture motion at the Sandy Hook Speedway where we will have the opportunity to photograph the MINI MOTO RACE #9 on Track #5. The focus will be on techniques on capturing freeze-frame action as well as images that capture the movement of the race. We will be using fast and slow shutter speeds to create different images and will try our steady hands at the art of panning. These techniques will be used not only on the races, but on the audience as well, so street photography with slow shutter will be another assignment to help you develop an eye and skills to bring another dimension of photography into your images....movement.

We will go through suggested camera settings, effects of fast and slow shutter speed on motion, panning techniques, and composition.

Free parking is available Admission is FREE

• We will be photographing during the practice runs that start at 09:30am til Lunch to avoid larger crowds. food is available on site, and I plan to have lunch there afterwards. You can stay longer for the actual race if you like.

Meet Location: We will meet in the parking lot and gather for a few lessons/tips then head in to find a good spot.

Required Equipment:

• Camera (or cell phone)
• Lens (medium-long telephoto lens for far away shots and wider lens for street shots) this will depend on our vantage point for the race.

Recommended/Optional Equipment:

• ND Filter (for longer exposures during the day)-Variable ND would be best, but any ND will do to slow your shutter speed down.
  -Monopod if available. Not sure there will be much room for multiple tripods. Most shots will be handheld.
