Class Description:
Join Thursday evening for a 30-minute guided mindfulness meditation practice designed to help cultivate mindfulness, ease stress, and anxiety and promote a sense of calm and well-being. Give yourself the gift of the present as you are guided through various mindfulness practices, including breath awareness, body scans, mindfulness of thought, and self-compassion.
For 30 minutes, join in a welcoming and non-judgmental space, with guidance and support throughout the session. All are welcome- no experience necessary. Meditations can be done seated or lying down, whatever is most comfortable. After the meditation, there will be time for reflection and questions.
Teacher Bio:
Alexandra Klein is a certified mindfulness meditation teacher trained in mindful self-compassion. First introduced to mindfulness in a therapeutic setting over thirteen years ago, she saw the tremendous potential and impact that mindfulness could bring and committed her life’s purpose to learning and practicing.
Alexandra is deeply committed to her own practice- to living a life in line with her values. As a lifelong student and lover of learning, she is constantly taking courses, reading and engaging with mindfulness and Buddhist psychology. She is extremely dedicated to her own practice, for her benefit and for the benefit of those she teaches. She has completed over 90 days of silent retreat practice (including multiple one-week retreats), leads drop-in meditation practices, volunteers at InsightLA, and has taught numerous six-week introductory classes and heart-based courses. Alexandra meets with her mentor regularly as well as working with a Life Balance strategist. She lives in Los Angeles and is currently working with students one-on-one via Zoom.
