What we’re about

Poetry is incredibly healing! Reading and writing poetry has been proven to help alleviate depressive and anxiety symptoms, foster a greater sense of self-awareness, encourage the expression of feelings, and much more.

You don’t have to be an accomplished poet, or even a poet at all to enjoy the healing effects of poetry. This group is about sharing, catharsis, learning, and friendly feedback.

Group meetings will be on Zoom and in-person, and take on a variety of formats. I will also offer ongoing Poetry Therapy workshops for those who are interested. I encourage anyone who is interested in poetry to attend!

First group meeting will be posted as soon as we have a few members join.

About Me:
Ashley received a MA in Clinical Psychology from UNC-Charlotte, and an MFA in Poetry from Queens University. In her private practice, Ashley had success using poetry as a healing tool with many of her clients. Now she runs Healing with Poetry educational workshops in hopes of sharing poetry’s healing power with others.
