Hospitals 2.0 is Here!
This event was originally inspired by one of our Panelists, Jon Gordon from Presby's innovations team. Thanks Jon!
Hospitals are the center of innovation for clinical aspects of medicine but are not as well known for adopting or driving IT innovation. Clay Shirky in his 2008 keynote address (http://blog.faircaremd.com/2011/11/clay-shirky-on-how-to-massively-change-healthcare/) at the Annual Health 2.0 conference emphasized that the patients would lead change and that the institutions would resist as long as possible. In 2008 this was true, but in 2011 we are starting to see Hospital based solutions and products beginning to lead the innovation on a grand scale.
To recognize and highlight this shift that is occurring, we invite Innovators and Hospitals to strut their Health 2.0 stuff!
The format is companies will present their Project or Product and a panel of Hospital Executives in charge of Innovation will also offer comments and critiques of the products and projects, as well as regale us with stories of the projects they have done.

Your Nurse is On, www.YourNurseIsOn.com (http://www.yournurseison.com/)
Founder & CEO, Get The Right Nurses at the Right Time, Right when you Need them
https://evbdn.eventbrite.com/s3-s3/eventlogos/2640070/member7937705.jpegFinalist at DCtoVC, Health 2.0 NYC supporter, and a disruptive innovator for healthcare, Matt Browning has created an instant communication system for healthcare that is going to pilot in hospitals everywhere and attracting serious attention. Your Nurse Is On enables Hospitals to reduce the cost of staffing their floors by automating the process of filling shifts through an automated communications solution that reaches out to your approved resources and allows an immediate response. Matt always says he spent 12 years as a nurse, 4 of which were on the phone trying to get someone to come in to cover an empty spot in the schedule. Presnting at Health 2.0 India, a Panelist at the NYeC Digital Health Conference, and seemingly everywhere at once, we are proud to count @MatthewBrowning (http://twitter.com/#/MatthewBrowning) as one of our members and have him show off his creation that revolutionizes hospital communications.

Jeanne Pinder, Founder and CEO Clearhealthcosts.com -- http://clearhealthcosts.com (http://clearhealthcosts.com/) -- Bringing transparency to the health-care marketplace https://evbdn.eventbrite.com/s3-s3/eventlogos/2640070/dscn1559.jpgWe're telling people what stuff costs by hospital. There's a steep rise in the number of people paying for medical services out of pocket: either they're on high-deductible plans, or theyr'e going out of network, or they're uninsured. As a result, the era of consumer-driven health care has come: marketplace, legislative and judicial forces are propelling the health-care marketplace into an era of transparency. We're working to be the best on-line source of health-care prices. In this famously opaque marketplace, we're finding prices and letting consumers know about them -- using tools like shoe-leather reporting, crowdsourcing, data visualization, and sourcing and curation of large databases and other tools. We're in early beta, and we have some new features coming that we're not quite able to talk about -- they're really exciting, and we may be able to offer a sneak peek! Jeanne Pinder, the founder and CEO, spent almost 25 years at the New York Times as an editor, reporter and exec. She's a lifelong journalist.
