Exploring Humanity with LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® - With Valerie & Robb

Details

Join us on an immersive journey of self-discovery and group understanding using the transformative power of LEGO SERIOUS PLAY. Get hands-on with your thinking and explore what it means to be human in this one-of-a-kind workshop facilitated by Valerie McLean and Robb Lockwood.

Date: 24th April
Time: 18.00
Location: NHS Education for Scotland, Westport 102, West Port, Edinburgh, EH3 9DN
Organized by: Heart of Agile Scotland

During the workshop, Valerie and Robb will guide you through the use of the LEGO SERIOUS PLAY method to help you have meaningful discussions about the incredible wonders and inevitable flaws of what it means to be human. How can we accept we are who we are as individuals, and what can we do to change the environment around all of us, so we can be the best we can be.
Using LEGO bricks and elements, you’ll be given the chance to construct tangible models of your thoughts, feelings, and reflections on humanity. These models serve as the basis for group dialogue, helping us uncover new perspectives on how we can accept our individualities and collectively enhance the world around us.

‘Exploring Humanity with Lego Serious Play’ invites you to reflect, share, and innovate. Together, we will navigate the beautiful complexities of being human in a workshop where play leads to profound insights and transformative action.

FAQ

What is LEGO SERIOUS PLAY?
LEGO SERIOUS PLAY is an engaging, creative, and collaborative approach to facilitation using LEGO bricks and elements to help cover serious topics and solve complex problems.

I’ve used LEGO in Scrum training. Is this the same?
I can’t say for certain that what you were using wasn’t LEGO SERIOUS PLAY; however, I can be fairly confident that it wasn’t. There are some great exercises that use LEGO bricks and elements but not all of these are considered LEGO SERIOUS PLAY.

I’ve never played with LEGO bricks before (or for a long time). Will I be at a disadvantage?
Not at all - in fact, it might even put you at an advantage. You will be guided through a skill-building element at the start to give you all the competency you need in building, storytelling, and metaphor so that you can best enjoy and learn from the experience ahead of you.
