What we’re about
Welcome to the Heart-centered Toastmasters homepage!
Heart-centered Toastmasters is part of Toastmasters International, a world-wide organization that fosters development of communication and leadership skills. HCTM is unique in that we offer a spiritual, non-denominational club culture of unconditional loving and infinite positive regard in our mutually supportive, non-competitive atmosphere.
We are an open, community club, which means we are open to any interested parties joining who are over the age of 18 and who agree to be supportive of our loving club culture.
Most of our members have a goal of becoming a leader in their own field, whether it be spiritual psychology, music, writing, hypnotherapy, etc. HCTM is the ideal practice ground for members to quickly gain self-confidence, practice public speaking, teaching their topic, improving their extemporaneous speaking skills and practicing as a leader.
The Toastmasters program is a comprehensive program that gives members the opportunity to stretch in every way as both speakers and leaders.
Speakers can move through Toastmasters Pathways at their own pace, and learning happens thru actual life experience. After completing a path, there are many other Paths to follow. The Entertaining Speaker, Special Occasion Speeches, The Professional Speaker, Speaking on Television and many more. Members can move from speaking briefly for 5-7 minutes to giving longer 20 minute to 1 hour educational presentations. The hands-on learning opportunity offered is invaluable.
Members interested in developing as leaders have the opportunity at the club level to practice being an MC, giving introductions, designing and running a program, chairing special events, participating or running a board, creating a meeting agenda, facilitating Q & A, mentoring newer members and much more. Beyond the club level, TI offers leadership roles such as Area Director, Division Director and on up the line in the district, region and international level.
For the nominal price of membership, HCTM is an extraordinary value for the benefits available to its members. We invite you to join us on 1st and 3rd Thursday evenings at 7.30 pm. Guests are always welcome to visit to see if HCTM is the Toastmasters club is the right fit for you.
