The Art of Loving: A Mindful Exploration of Love

In the first gathering of 2026, we explore love beyond its familiar romantic frame, gently moving through different realms of love;
love for the self, love for the other, and love for life and all living beings.

Through art, poetry, and reflective readings, we will listen to how love speaks in different voices as tenderness toward one’s own becoming, as intimacy between two people, and as a boundless compassion that embraces the wider world.

The gathering will close with a guided loving-kindness (Metta) meditation.

This is an interactive, inclusive, and contemplative circle; no prior experience is needed. Our gathering will take place in a cozy setting, inviting quiet reflection and deeper connection.

Participation is possible with prior reservation only (limited spots).

We will share herbal tea, sweets, and Turkish coffee, with a small accompanying liqueur, during our time together.

Our second gathering opens with the theme Beginner’s Mind, the invitation to see the world with freshness, curiosity, and wonder, as though for the very first time. In this gathering, we turn to hands and the art of touch, the way we reach toward the world, toward one another, and toward our own being.

Together, we will travel through the long arc of history from prehistory to modern art discovering in myths, artworks, poetry, music, and film how hands have shaped meaning across worlds and cultures.

Along the way, we’ll pause for a sensory meditation on touch, embodying Beginner’s Mind and planting the seeds of a new cycle of exploration.

🌿 Ancient Myths, Ancestral Wisdom & Spring Rituals
We’ll explore myths and seasonal traditions that honor nature’s cycles and take part in a simple new-year ritual inspired by Nevrouz.

📖 Literary & Artistic Reflections
We’ll draw inspiration from writers such as Knut Hamsun, Hermann Hesse, and Henry David Thoreau, and explore how artists across centuries have portrayed trees as symbols of renewal and life.

🌳 Shamanic Tree Meditation
We’ll close with a grounding tree meditation, connecting with the energies of rooting, balance, and new growth as we step into the new cycle together.
