Helium & Chia Present: The Next Wave of Consensus Models

***Please RSVP on Splash to attend and confirm your spot as space is limited: nextwavesfbw.splashthat.com***

Join Andrew Thompson, VP of Engineering at Helium, and Bram Cohen, CEO of Chia, for a technical discussion during SF Blockchain Week about the next wave of consensus models beyond Proof of Work.

Helium built a new work algorithm called “Proof of Coverage” (PoC) to verify Hotspots provide robust wireless coverage and are rewarded for it. Proof-of-Coverage determines which Hotspots can earn Helium, a new cryptocurrency, depending on the quality of coverage they provide based on feedback by their peers.

Chia’s Proof of Space is a cryptographic technique where provers show that they allocated unused hard drive space. In order to be used as a consensus method, Proof of Space is tied to Proof of Time.

Food and beverages will be served. We hope to see you there!
