sad to push back again - drizzle and the cold - RESCHEDULED BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER
I'm a beginner and creating these events to learn from you and maybe you can learn some things from me. Maybe we all can take something away from this. Please don't expect me to know it all or be a full on teacher in the meet up. Open to other peoples definitions, the way they meditate or what Buddhism they practice.
There is parking right next to where this small event is held. This is my first event, most likely will be just me. hopefully more people will come and join :)
Welcome to join even if you can't RSVP
Meet Up Event
• Meditation
can dive into some meditation. please bring a mat or blanket, whatever helps you meditate.
I can bring a speaker and play a soothing meditation sound but please bring your own headphones just in case you'd rather have your own sounds.
•Grounding Meditation
we can move into grounding meditation. please feel free to bring anything that helps with grounding meditation.
•Gratitude
if you feel comfortable speaking, can say what we're grateful for. a positive moment and to openly say it out loud. (grateful for a job, a roof over your head, etc)
•Walk
we can finish by walking Greenlake together, or on your own. what you feel like doing.
----
Please feel free to leave whenever you want.
Probably best to join at the beginning to get to know everyone and not interrupt the meditations.
Once again I'm a beginner and please don't expect me to know it all or be a full on teacher in the meet up. Open to other peoples definitions, the way they meditate or what Buddhism they practice.
I don't stick to one type of Buddhism, I kind of stick to mainly meditation, grounding, gratefulness, mindfulness, I manifest and visualize every morning and I'm wanting to read all kind of different books on Buddhism.
Right now I am reading The Heart of the Buddha's Teachings: Transforming Suffering into Peace, Joy & Liberation by Hanh Thich Nhat (available on Amazon or Barnes & Noble)

• Quote
"Letting go gives us freedom, and freedom is the only condition for happiness. If, in our heart, we still cling to anything - anger, anxiety, or possessions - we cannot be free."
- Thich Nhat Hanh quote from the book The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching:
Transforming Suffering into Peace, Joy, and Liberation.
