Hemel Social is a friendly social & friendship group who welcomes all. Maybe you're new to the area, kids have flown the nest, had a change in circumstances or you just want to get out more, try new things or places & make some more friends. Join us if you want to meet new people, socialise, make new friends, have fun & try new things.
Don't be shy take the plunge & you'll soon make friends & have an improved & active social life. We hold multiple events every week.
Social activities could include meeting for coffee, drinks, eating out, pub nights, live music, dancing, theme nights, cinema, theatre, comedy, arts & crafts, day trips, race days, bowling, quiz nights, games, book club, walks, picnics, afternoon tea, escape rooms, disc/footgolf, bike rides, skating, trampolining, snowboarding or any other sports & leisure activities, museums, galleries, day trips, charity events and much more. Events can be daytime, evening, midweek or weekends in the local area or beyond. Members are also encouraged to host events. The more event hosts we have the more events there will be for you to attend. You don't have to host loads of events just once or twice a year would help. Contact one of the organisers if you are interested & want help with this.

Don't be shy we're a nice friendly social group and when you're ready you might want to join our group of hosts & organise occasional events as well. Don't just sit at home on your own, come out, start making new friends & join in the fun.

We're going to back to the 70's again for a night of Glam Rock & 70's Disco so dig out those flares, platforms, jumpsuits, hippie outfits & get your best 70's make up on for a great night. For ideas Google 70's Pop Stars, Films, TV Shows, TV Adverts, Games.
DJ Lee Plowright will be playing hits from the 70's for you to dance along to 🪩🕺🏼
For those of you that joined us last year you'll know what a great night it was.
Where can I get a 70's Outfit?
You can get some great & very reasonably priced outfits or accessories on Temu, Shein, Amazon & also some great finds in Charity Shops.
Also fancy dress hire shops.
Take a look at the photos for a few ideas of 70's bands & TV shows.
As with all our events please remember to keep your RSVP's up to date & change it to "Not Going" as soon as possible if you can no longer attend. This also applies to the wait list where applicable. Please do not leave it until the last minute as it is also unfair on the venues that we have given numbers to & the host who has given up their time to arrange events.

A bit about the pub. It is a friendly, pretty village – Real Ale & Craft Beer pub (with REAL home-cooked fodder... Yummy) overlooking the picturesque Boxmoor common cricket pitch. The pub has been in operation since the 1800's providing refuge for weary travellers. They pride themselves on impeccable service, familiarity, comfort and focus on the pleasure of eating and drinking.
