About us
Hello, and welcome to Her Adventure!
We are a hiking group dedicated to creating a place for women (trans and non-binary inclusive) to feel safe and comfortable exploring nature. Her Adventure began with the goal of helping folks see themselves as hikers, adventurers, and strong ass humans who can haul their bodies up and over mountains. Her Adventure Hike for Women--Boggy Creek Greenbelt
Boggy Creek Greenbelt, 1114 Nile St., Austin, TX, USThis group hike is open and welcoming to newcomers!
About the hike:
Boggy Creek Greenbelt is an urban hike through a greenbelt in East Austin. This is a 2.6 out and back (meaning we head one way, turn around, and go back the way we came) flat hike. Full hiking route here.Parking:
There is a parking lot and some street parking near our meeting spot.Optional post-hike social time:
We typically plan an optional social activity (usually involving food!) after the hike. Join us after at Mercado Sin Nombre for coffee and a bite to eat afterwards. This little joint was just named by Bon Appetit as one of the best breakfast places in America!About Her Adventure:
We are Bobbie and Katy--two friends who have enjoyed spending time hiking and backpacking. We noticed that when we are in the backcountry, we don't see a whole lot of other women--probably due to a lot of factors (historical lack of representation, marketing, fear drilled into us by friends/family that the woods aren't safe, bro culture, etc). So we started Her Adventure with the goal of helping folks see themselves as hikers, adventurers, and strong ass humans who can haul their bodies up and over mountains. We're here to help cultivate the journey and sense of community.Questions?
If you have any questions please feel free to message Bobbie or Katy.83 attendees
