Speakers
Amy Harris
Over 20 years, a young woman entered the world of work with ambition, enthusiasm, and very little idea of what lay ahead. Since then, Amy has learned many lessons, some inspiring, some uncomfortable, and some learned the hard way. In this talk, she shares the experiences, mistakes, and insights she wishes someone had shared with her earlier in her career
Success in tech isn't about having the perfect background, it's about continuous learning, resilience, and creating opportunities.
Asia Sharif shares her journey from entering the tech industry as a newcomer to becoming a multi-award-winning software engineer and founder. Through personal experiences and practical lessons, attendees will gain insights into overcoming imposter syndrome, accelerating career growth, building a strong personal brand, and developing the confidence to thrive in the ever-evolving technology industry.
Chengwei Wang
How does someone trained in the urban disciplines end up building simulation tools, RAG systems, and smart-home architectures? In this talk, Chengwei shares her journey as an interdisciplinary researcher, structured around three phases. Curiosity, Self-awareness and Evolution. And how her doctoral work on commuting and transport inequality has been quietly reshaping how she thinks about the social dimensions of the systems she build. She hopes to offer something honest about what interdisciplinary learning actually looks like: the difficulties, the dead ends, the moments where things finally click, and the realization that every field has something worth carrying with you, especially once you have new tools to carry it with.
